Ensure Your Employees Are Continuously Learning Whilst Working Remotely

Posted on November 7, 2024November 7, 2024 by Larry

Running a business is not just about meeting targets and improving your bottom line, it’s about encouraging your employees to build an enjoyable and sustainable career for themselves. You have their futures in your hands, so it’s important to encourage continuous learning whilst they’re working for you, especially if they predominantly work from home. For growing businesses, it can be difficult to stay across training for remote workers, which can impact overall career progression. With some of these simple methods you can implement a structured and effective training program which helps your customers reach their goals and feel content on their career path.

Set Up Bespoke Online Training Programs

Online training is becoming much more accessible to employees these days, which can help them to stay on track with everything they need to know about their role. Remote workers may need particular focus on customer service training and Sales service training which can easily be via an online forum. Not only will these online training programs equip your employees to do their very best work, but it will also give them the flexibility to complete the training at a time that’s well-suited to their workload and schedule at the time.

Set Career Goals

Training programs can be extremely effective when it comes to progressing at work, but are they also aligned with the goals of the individual? Taking time to set career goals and work towards career progression will help you to tailor the types of e-learning your employees need.

Monitor Their Progress

Although you don’t want to micromanage your employees, it’s als important to check in on their progress and make sure they’re putting their training to good practice. When it comes to monitoring the progress of your employees, you need to make sure they’re reaching their goals and consistently using their knowledge on the job. You could try setting them projects which are specifically related to their recent training so that you can see how they put it into practice on the job.

Talk to Them About What They Want to Achieve

As well as setting clear career goals, you may also want to talk about what they want to achieve in the long term. Do they want to work their way up the ladder in their current team? Or are they looking to change teams and switch their job role significantly? Having these open conversations will give you a good idea of what they actually want to achieve so that you can help them with their training.

When it comes down to maintaining a consistent training program for your employees, it’s so important to consider everyone as an individual. Taking the time to really get to know your workers who might be based in many different parts of the country is incredibly important. As soon as you start to put a personal touch to each of their career journeys, they will start to thrive, and they’ll become much more productive in the role they’re currently in. Hopefully, you can implement some of these ideas right away so that you can transform the way your employees continue to learn whilst working remotely.

About Us

My good friend Ben started this site many years ago.  Ben said this about himself, “am a follower of Christ, a rabid computer geek, small business owner, and breaker of things. He is married way above his station in life and has three wonderful children who have made driving him insane their mission in life.”

Well back in 2019, Ben suddenly passed away from cancer and he asked me to continue the site. I like Ben, am a follower, a computer geek, a small business owner, and the father of 5 great children.

I miss Ben everyday but run this site in his honor. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
