4 Ways You Can Earn Money from Sharing Your Skills

Posted on February 28, 2020February 28, 2020 by Larry

Over your professional career, as well as in your private life, you can develop a range of useful skills. Rather than keep these skills to yourself, or just using them to do your job, you can also share them with others. In fact, sharing your skills can be an excellent way to make money. You can choose to share your skills in a few different ways, all of which you could charge money for. Whether you’re an outgoing person who wants to teach people face-to-face or you would rather create educational materials to sell, you could be earning money with your skills.

Sell Online Courses

Online courses are extremely popular. People like the idea that they can learn anything online, in their own time and wherever they want. Many people even complete degrees through online courses. If you have a skill to share, creating an online course is a great way to do it. You could deliver your course in a variety of ways. You could have a series of articles or ebooks, or a video series. You could create a podcast or audio files for people to listen to, or you could send people materials in an email course.

Offer Your Services As a Speaker

Public speaking isn’t for everyone, but if it’s something that you’re interested in, you could make money by giving talks. There are different environments where you could share your skills, such as at industry conferences, schools, and various events for societies, clubs, and groups. You can get help with booking speaking gigs by using services such as those offered by Elite Lawyer Management. You’ll need help to raise your profile if you want to find the right bookings. You need to show that you know what you’re talking about and that you’re a confident speaker too.

Write Books

Putting out written material is another option for sharing your skills and knowledge. If you’re a decent writer, you could sell books (whether physical or digital) to people who want to learn from you. Even if you’re not that great at writing, you can get someone to work with you or hire a ghostwriter to help you write your books. However, you will still need to know your stuff if you want your book to represent you and your expertise. The easiest way to start selling a book is to sell digital copies online. However, it will benefit you to hire an editor and proofreader to check your work.

Give Classes in Person

Another way you could teach people in person is to run classes. This can be a bit more intimate than giving speeches, allowing you to connect with people individually. To do this, you will need somewhere you can deliver your classes. Finding the right space will depend on what you want to teach. A room in a library or even a hotel conference room could work for some things, whereas you might need somewhere specific like a kitchen or workshop to teach some skills.

Share your skills can you could make some extra money, or even turn it into a full-time business.

About Us

My good friend Ben started this site many years ago.  Ben said this about himself, “am a follower of Christ, a rabid computer geek, small business owner, and breaker of things. He is married way above his station in life and has three wonderful children who have made driving him insane their mission in life.”

Well back in 2019, Ben suddenly passed away from cancer and he asked me to continue the site. I like Ben, am a follower, a computer geek, a small business owner, and the father of 5 great children.

I miss Ben everyday but run this site in his honor. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
