Sold! Solid Tips To Help You Seal The Deal

Posted on October 5, 2017 by ben

If there is one thing that most people find tricky, it’s a sales pitch. First of all, you will have a lot of nerves to deal with, especially if you are giving your pitch in front of a large group of potential clients. As well as that, you need to make sure that your pitch is watertight so that you can quickly persuade everyone to take you up on your deal.

Still finding it difficult to seal the deal? Here are some useful tips that can help you improve your pitching and sales technique.

Prepare Well

It is important that you are well prepared for your pitch, whether you need to give it to a whole group or are pitching in a one on one meeting. You need to research the people who you are pitching to so that you can try and tailor it to their company. But you also need to have practiced your pitch as much as possible. If you have the chance, practice giving your pitch to a colleague or coworker. They will be able to give you any pointers on how you can improve and make a much tighter pitch.

Sweeten The Deal

It’s important that your clients don’t forget about you as soon as you walk out of the office. There is one way you can ensure that you are always on their mind; sweeten the deal with some memorabilia or promotional products. There are lots of companies like Pinnacle that can print company logos and branding onto items such as tote bags, USB storage devices, and mouse mats. As a nice gesture, some people like to leave these behind after their pitch. That way, whoever you pitched to will always have your business’s name close by and will find it difficult to forget about you.

Practice Public Speaking

If you do regularly make pitches to large groups of people, it’s worth taking the time to practice your public speaking skills. This can help to build your confidence, which can do wonders for your pitch. If you are nervous, you might be more inclined to stumble over your words and mumble. But once you have plenty of practice under your belt, you will find that you can wave goodbye to your nerves for good!

Always Follow Up

Most of your clients who you will pitch to will definitely be busy people.  As a result, it may take them some time in getting back to you after your sales pitch, or they might be so busy that they just forget. So, it’s important that you always follow up. One way to do this is to send them a thank you for the meeting the following day. Hopefully, this will prompt them to get back to you with regards to your pitch. If not, send them a polite follow up email a week or so later.

Pitching and trying to make a sale can be very tricky. But, as long as you have all of the above tips under your belt, you will certainly be able to make a good job of things and seal the deal!

About Us

My good friend Ben started this site many years ago.  Ben said this about himself, “am a follower of Christ, a rabid computer geek, small business owner, and breaker of things. He is married way above his station in life and has three wonderful children who have made driving him insane their mission in life.”

Well back in 2019, Ben suddenly passed away from cancer and he asked me to continue the site. I like Ben, am a follower, a computer geek, a small business owner, and the father of 5 great children.

I miss Ben everyday but run this site in his honor. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
