These Things Might Be Letting Your Business Image Down

Posted on January 26, 2021January 26, 2021 by Larry

Your business image is one of the key factors that you need to consider for success. It relates to your reputation and what customers and the general public think of you. If you don’t work on cultivating the right business image, you could find that your business suffers. There are various things that can go into your overall business image, from your choice of logo and your name to your brand tone of voice. Making mistakes in a number of areas could negatively affect your business image, so you need to be careful. The following things could be letting your business down if you don’t correct them.

Lack of Professional Contact Info

Small business owners will often start their business using their personal contact details. It may make sense to use your existing email address, phone number, and address for convenience. But as you try to grow your business, it could be bad for your image if you don’t get dedicated contact info for your business. It looks unprofessional if you don’t have a business email address and phone number. Additionally, you could accidentally answer the phone in an inappropriate way or important emails could get mixed up in your personal emails.

A Bad Website

Everyone knows the importance of a business website, but simply having a website isn’t enough. If your website is slow, hard to navigate, doesn’t provide enough information, or is simply out of date, it could reflect negatively on your business. Your website needs to offer a pleasant experience to visitors, instead of causing them any inconvenience. Even if your website has been built fairly recently, it doesn’t mean that it’s good. You might need to approach a designer or developer to help you redesign your site and ensure it meets your customers’ needs.

Scruffy Exterior Premises

If you have business premises that are visible to the public, you need to consider how they affect your business image. If the building has your name on it and it looks rundown or not well-maintained, people could be judging your business based on what it looks like. You might need to contact commercial roof companies to have your roof repaired or have your exterior walls touched up so your premises look good. Regular maintenance like window washing helps to keep your business presenting a good image. People will be able to see that you care about what your business looks like, as well as the upkeep of the whole neighborhood.

Employee Behavior

Your employees can also influence your business image. If they don’t present the right image, both at work and outside of work, it can cause trouble for your business. You should have defined standards that you expect them to keep that reflect the philosophy of your company. You might need to remind them about how to behave on social media outside of work or how to talk to customers while at work.

Take care of your business image if you want to build a positive reputation for your company.

About Us

My good friend Ben started this site many years ago.  Ben said this about himself, “am a follower of Christ, a rabid computer geek, small business owner, and breaker of things. He is married way above his station in life and has three wonderful children who have made driving him insane their mission in life.”

Well back in 2019, Ben suddenly passed away from cancer and he asked me to continue the site. I like Ben, am a follower, a computer geek, a small business owner, and the father of 5 great children.

I miss Ben everyday but run this site in his honor. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
