Taking A Step Off The Overwhelming Business Train

Posted on October 16, 2017 by ben

Running a business is not easy and it can be completely overwhelming at times. This is when you have too many things on your “to do” list and not enough hours in the day to complete them, sound familiar? You won’t be alone. Too many business owners try and take on every possible role they can to ensure they stay in tune with their business model and also, you just have the passion to do it. But this is when your business decision can be letting you down. I wanted to share with you some of the ways you can step off the business train every now and again, enabling you to do what you do best and that is actually build your successful company.

Outsource When Needed

Outsourcing is a great way to ensure that what needs to be done gets done in a timely manner. There is no point trying to ensure that you handle credit control, payroll, or come up with the latest marketing strategy to blow your competition out of the water. Trying to do everything means you can spread yourself too thin, and then not end up doing anything particularly well. Outsourcing can be a great help.

Don’t Be Afraid To Upgrade Certain Tech

There are certain types of technology out there that can make things a lot easier if you let them. Faster internet speeds, better computers or laptops or even printers that can actually become office assistants thanks to things like Xerox. There are many different xerox locations to consider if this sounds of interest. Tech can help a business and there is no shying away from the fact that it is advancing all of the time. Take advantage of it.

Look At Where Your Skills Lie Best

Where do your skills lie best? Are you best on the front line selling or motivating your sales team? Are you more suited analyzing data or working out your next business move? It is essential to understand where your current skills lie best and then focus your energy on that area, rather than trying to learn something new. That way you can leave other aspects of the business to the professionals.

Give Your Business A Digital Boost

Many businesses are going online these days and it can be so much more than just a website. Although, having a website that is very user friendly and easy to use are huge benefits to you. It can be more about how you engage with your customers, what you publish and advertise online, as well as your digital presence. It is now easier than ever for customers to leave reviews or get in touch with you online, so how you choose to use this is vital for your business moving forward.

Consider Your Business Plan And Go Back To The Drawing Board

Finally, it is always a good idea to go back to your business plan and see how far you have come and what you have left to do. At this stage, you can even add it change things to head in a different direction. But often a guide is all it needs to feel inspired once more.

About Us

My good friend Ben started this site many years ago.  Ben said this about himself, “am a follower of Christ, a rabid computer geek, small business owner, and breaker of things. He is married way above his station in life and has three wonderful children who have made driving him insane their mission in life.”

Well back in 2019, Ben suddenly passed away from cancer and he asked me to continue the site. I like Ben, am a follower, a computer geek, a small business owner, and the father of 5 great children.

I miss Ben everyday but run this site in his honor. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
