Want To Go Far? Follow The Business Rulebook

Posted on February 8, 2018 by ben

There are many things that are spoken about in business on how you can succeed, but what advice should you actually listen to? Which road should you take? Well, unfortunately, because there are so many different options, there isn’t one single answer that fits all, as there are tons of areas within a business that you need to focus on if you want to get anywhere.

Regardless of what products you sell, or what service you provide, you want to make sure that you’re always ahead of the game, so your competitors aren’t able to outdo you.

Here’s how.

Be True To Yourself

It’s a wonderful feeling being able to make money – money is freedom, right? But what if you do something that you don’t enjoy? Surely regardless of the money you make, if you’re not truly enjoying what you do, then what’s the point? You should be doing something that you believe in, something that makes your proud. If you’re running a business that you wouldn’t want to show off to your own family, then maybe you should question whether this is something you want to do altogether.

Keep Yourself Covered

If you don’t do the essential things to keep yourself and your business protected, you may run into some problems that can end up costing you a lot of money. And these can all be avoided by investing in the right commercial insurance so that you never have to worry. A lot of people don’t like to do this – even when it is a legal requirement, because they don’t want to splash out on cash that they feel isn’t needed. But this is a huge mistake that can leave you in a lot of trouble, so don’t take any risks. Keep your business insured.

Don’t Wait For Miracles

This doesn’t necessarily mean that they don’t happen per se – but don’t wait around for them to come along. You write your own destiny, so you need to put in the hard work. Yes, you may make money while you’re asleep, or when you’re away on holiday – but that’s only because you’ve made the possibility exist, and that was through endless hours of work. So focus your energy on giving as much of yourself as you can so that you succeed in the future.

Find A Gap And Fill It

As cliche as this may be, it really does work. Think about the industry that you’re looking to get into, or do more research once you’re already in it. It is never too early or too late to do your investigating, so always be on the lookout for any gaps that you find in the market, and then figure out different ways that you can fill them with your products or services. That way it will sell itself. You won’t have to spend money and valuable time trying to persuade people to buy from you, because they’ll see it for themselves. Be their need.

About Us

My good friend Ben started this site many years ago.  Ben said this about himself, “am a follower of Christ, a rabid computer geek, small business owner, and breaker of things. He is married way above his station in life and has three wonderful children who have made driving him insane their mission in life.”

Well back in 2019, Ben suddenly passed away from cancer and he asked me to continue the site. I like Ben, am a follower, a computer geek, a small business owner, and the father of 5 great children.

I miss Ben everyday but run this site in his honor. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
