Why Keep Your Small Business Small?

Posted on October 26, 2017 by ben

So, why should you keep your small business small? Simple answer is, you shouldn’t. There’s so many businesses out there that just keep their small business small, when there’s just so much room for growth. For some such as corner shops, or a homemade gift business, it really can be hard for them to expand due to the lack of demand. But if you market yourself right there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to expand either nationally, or internationally. This post is going to give you a few tips on making your small business bigger.

As we said in the introduction, you need to market yourself right. You’re most likely going to be competing with some big names out there, so getting your little businesses name noticed without it is going to be hard. Take a look at some different marketing techniques and see what works for you. If you’re not already utilizing social media, this should be the place to start. It’s free, simple, and effective. If it’s used right, it really can propel your business to new heights.

All three of the main platforms, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram will be perfect for showcasing your business. On Facebook there’s a lot of tools to help businesses if you set up a page. You can boost posts from anywhere around $2 to reach a certain number of people around the world. With twitter you can use hashtags to get to your target audience. Instagram you can do the same as with Twitter, but can really use it to showcase your products. Just make sure you’re doing it professionally with some good photos.

Sometimes, knowing how to grow your business on your own is just hard, especially if you’ve never had any experience doing it before. If your business is not naturally growing, you might benefit from bringing in outside from someone who specializes in growth.

A trained expert such as Michael Elias will analyse all aspects of your business model and look for areas it can be improved. This fresh set of eyes looking into your processes can really work wonders for your company’s future. If you’re not keen on someone else telling you what to do, you need to do some heavy research into successful ways to grow a business.

Once you’ve watched your business grow a little, you’ll start noticing the benefits instantly. The main one being the large amount of profit you’ll be bringing in. Small businesses tend to bring in an average wage, yet if you expand to the point of having a few offices, warehouses, stores etc. you’ll notice your money grow and grow, The only downside being life will become a little more chaotic. But if you hire the right team of people to sub manage your business with you, there shouldn’t be anything you can’t conquer.

Unless you like your business small, then there’s really no reason why you shouldn’t constantly be pushing for growth. If you’re struggling, don’t be afraid to take on the help and advice of someone else!

About Us

My good friend Ben started this site many years ago.  Ben said this about himself, “am a follower of Christ, a rabid computer geek, small business owner, and breaker of things. He is married way above his station in life and has three wonderful children who have made driving him insane their mission in life.”

Well back in 2019, Ben suddenly passed away from cancer and he asked me to continue the site. I like Ben, am a follower, a computer geek, a small business owner, and the father of 5 great children.

I miss Ben everyday but run this site in his honor. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
