Handy Must Haves for Every Novel Business Owner

Posted on August 2, 2018 by ben

Finding another way to earn money for your family has always been high on your priority list. Not only do you want to secure their financial future, but your business idea is bound to keep you busy. With so many small businesses out there you are quite unsure where to begin; you don’t want to fall short or miss any important elements in the initial stages. Whether you need help drafting a contract with a business partner or you need assistance with your entire business plan, here is everything you need to know if you are a newbie to the daunting world of business.

Clever Contracts

At the very start of your business launch, you need to make sure you have all the legal boxes ticked. Let’s say you have employed one of your friends to do the accounts for your business or your partner has an especially creative eye for design, you should always have their rights and duties outlined in an official contract. If you need help with a contract then seek help from a professional, who will be able to word everything in a clear and concise way, so that they are no disputes or arguments.

Brainy Business Plan

Make sure that you have a really strong and detailed business plan before you set off on your journey into the big wide business world. So many entrepreneurs are unprepared when it comes to their overall plans. You need a clear overview of who you are targeting, what your business intentions are and what makes you different to your competitors. With a strong business plan in place you will be giving yourself a better head start before you launch officially.

Fantastic Finances

You might think you have plenty of money stashed away for your business launch, but this will quickly fritter away as soon as you make your first few payments for website design, marketing campaigns and product samples. You should never get too comfortable when it comes to your money, because everything will be hugely unpredictable within your first year.

Novel Niche Ideas

Make sure that your business ideas are completely new and unique; if you are fighting against a tonne of competitors you will need to find a way to stand out. Discover your unique selling point and use this to your advantage when you are advertising your services. People always want something fresh and different, so dare to think outside the box and give your target market exactly what they want.

You want your business to be the best it can possibly be; you have got the drive, determination and money to get you started, you just need that little extra push to get you through to the other side. As long as you don’t allow any of the following ideas slip by, your business future will be looking bright. Be proud of yourself for creating a strong financial future for you and your family and enjoy every aspect of running your own business.

Absolutely brilliant and true Ben, particularly in regards to finding our unique angle or a less crowded niche to be involved in. My big mistake a few years ago was in the travel niche..trying to target absolutely everyone and everywhere where I’d have been much better defining my audience and then working backwards from there.

I really should have targeted a specific crowd, say backpackers and students instead of absolutely everyone that wanted to travel to Asia, – yes I ought to have been more specific in that too and targeted an exact country or region like South East Asia.

About Us

My good friend Ben started this site many years ago.  Ben said this about himself, “am a follower of Christ, a rabid computer geek, small business owner, and breaker of things. He is married way above his station in life and has three wonderful children who have made driving him insane their mission in life.”

Well back in 2019, Ben suddenly passed away from cancer and he asked me to continue the site. I like Ben, am a follower, a computer geek, a small business owner, and the father of 5 great children.

I miss Ben everyday but run this site in his honor. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
