Size Is Important! How To Scale Up Your Company Effectively

Posted on August 17, 2017 by ben

If you have started a successful business there are many things you need to keep at the back of your mind, and one of those things is scaling up the business. When you scale up the business it’s always a good sign because your business is doing very well thus far! The great thing about a business model that you can scale up according to demands is that you can adapt to a bigger workload without it affecting performance or your revenue. So what do you need in place before you start to scale up? What are the fundamentals you require?

The Basics

First thing’s first, before you even think about scaling up, you need to make sure that you have the basics in place. You need to make sure that your product line is market fit, you need to find out your largest core users, and to find the most profitable marketing channels.

If these aren’t in place, your product isn’t going to translate well when it comes to scaling up, and you will have a lot of problems. It makes a lot of common sense to have the basics in place before doing anything else.

The Capable Technologies

Every company is needing to pedal faster to keep up with the changes in technology trends. So you need to make sure that you are front loading your business with the right tech at the outset, because the right technology will make for a more productive organization.

Setting up automation processes, new trading systems (such as e-learning programs), and easy to use tech like business phone systems like VoIP will ensure that your company runs smoother. If you are a small business, it can be frustrating to get these things setup, especially something like cloud storage which can require a lot of research at the outset. But it will be far more beneficial in the long run if you can fix these issues now.

Hiring The Necessary People

It may be an obvious thing to say, but if you hire the right people that lend themselves well to your business scaling up, it makes the process far easier. Hiring the right people, or even outsourcing the right people that are necessary to the business operation, means that you will be reducing wastage.

While technology has an indispensable place in the modern business world, the importance of an excellent employee in this environment means they will have more than one skill meaning that they can transfer one of these useful skills from one task to another. This will ensure a smoother process when you are scaling up.

Preparation is always the best process to ensure your business scales up effectively, but also remember that mindset is an important part of increasing your business in every aspect. And while you can have everything in place, you need to start thinking big, so your business will become big. Mindset is a drastically underrated process, especially when you are thinking about the fundamentals, but make sure you have what it takes to scale up the business too!

About Us

My good friend Ben started this site many years ago.  Ben said this about himself, “am a follower of Christ, a rabid computer geek, small business owner, and breaker of things. He is married way above his station in life and has three wonderful children who have made driving him insane their mission in life.”

Well back in 2019, Ben suddenly passed away from cancer and he asked me to continue the site. I like Ben, am a follower, a computer geek, a small business owner, and the father of 5 great children.

I miss Ben everyday but run this site in his honor. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
